Completion of the 43rd Sergeants’ Training Course

The preliminary training for the first group of the 43rd Sergeants Batch from the Department of Prisons who was promoted based on seniority and merit was held by the Center for Research and Training in Corrections at the Angunakolapelessa Prison. By giving theory and practical knowledge about the job, training with physical and drill exercises was conducted for a duration of 14 days.

After a successful 14 days training course, the ceremony of passing out of officers and distribution of certificate was held on 28.02.2021 at the auditorium of the Angunakolapelessa Prison under the patronage of the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr.Thusita Uduwara, and the Commissioner of Prisons (Administration and Rehabilitation), Mr.Chandana Ekanayake. The Superintendent of Prisons (Director-Training), Mr.M.F.Lahir, the Superintendent of Angunakolapelessa Prison, Mr.S.K.Palletenna, the Chief Jailor, Mr. H.D.K.N.Premawansa, and the Chief Drill Instructor, Mr.Amith Gunawardana, and the staff of the training center took part in the ceremony.
