New appointment to the post of Official Media Spokesman of the Department of Prisons

For the purpose of disseminating timely, transparent and reliable information of the affairs and services provided by the State Ministry of Prison Management and Prisoners Rehabilitation Affairs and the Department of Prisons, Acting Commissioner of Prisons (Administration and Rehabilitation) Mr. Chandana Ekanayake has been appointed to the post of the Official Media Spokesperson of the Ministry of Prisons Management and Prisoners Rehabilitation Affairs and the Department of Prisons. The letter of Appointment was offered to the Commissioner of Prisons Mr. Chandana Ekanayake on 2020-12-16 by the Hon. State Minister of Prison Management and Prisoners Rehabilitation Affairs Mr. Lohan Rathwatte.

Mr. Chandana Ekanayake who has the experience of over 30 years in the prison service, is an alumnus of Dharmaraja College, Kandy and holds a Higher National Diploma in Human Rights and Peace Studies from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Post Graduate Degree in Public Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
