The 164th commemoration of Lord Baden Powell at the Welikada Prison

On behalf of the 164 commemorations of Lord Baden Powell-the founder of Boy Scouts, birth commemoration ceremony organized by the 29th Wikum Scout Society of Welikada Prison was held ceremonially under the patronage of the Additional Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr.Uduwara, and with the participation of the Assistant Chief Commissioner (Scout and Information Technology) Mr. Srilath de Silva in the evening of 22.02.2021 near the B.P.Statue at the Welikada Prison.

Band of Boys Scout Society played, for the first time, on this occasion and salutation of the parade of inmate scouts also held. Also, ten thousand plants were planted typifying plantation of ten thousand plants as the theme of Baden Powell’s day.
