Implementation of ’Sathi Pasala’ program based on ‘Sathi’ in Welikada Prison

Dhamma Program called “Sati Pasala” for prison inmates in Welikada Prison carried out by “Viyathmaga” members and organized by the Superintendent of Welikada Prison, Mr M.F. Lahir, Welikada Rehabilitation Center-and Prison officers, was held on 18/09/2020 from 9.00 A.M. to 11.30 A.M. under the patronage of Hon. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr.Namal Rajapaksha and Hon. State Minister of Prison Reforms and Prisoners’ Rehabilitation, Dr.Shudarshani Fernandopulle. Ven. Athurugiriye Dhamma Vihara Thero participated as the Chief preacher at the occasion, and Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr.Thushara Upuldeniya, Commissioner of Prisons (Administration and Rehabilitation), Mr.Chandana Ekanayake, Commissioner of Prisons (Operation and Intelligence and Security), Mr T.I. Uduwara, Commissioner of Prisons (Industries), Mr Malin Liyanage and Chairman of the Prisoners Welfare Association, Mrs Sunethra Weerasinghe also participated in the ceremony.
